LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating May D. Neils upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition as the recipient of the New York
State PTA Distinguished Service Award

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this great
State; and
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, May D. Neils has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership, and consequently
has been designated for special recognition by the East Ramapo PTA Coun-
cil; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late May D. Neils upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition as the recipient of the New York State PTA Distinguished
Service Award; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated on Monday,
March 23, 2009, at the Chestnut Ridge Middle School in Chestnut Ridge,
New York; and
WHEREAS, The East Ramapo PTA Council Founders Day celebration annually
honors the memory of founders and other leaders of the PTA; and
WHEREAS, May D. Neils is the President of the East Ramapo PTA Council;
and
WHEREAS, For her continuing dedication, May D. Neils is being honored
by the East Ramapo PTA Council with the New York State PTA Distinguished
Service Award; and
WHEREAS, May D. Neils has proven herself to be an extra special indi-
vidual making an enormous contribution to the welfare of children and
youth; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which May D. Neils has displayed through-
out her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate May D. Neils upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition as the recipient of the New York State PTA Distin-
guished Service Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to May D. Neils.
