LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Lenny's Lighthouse, Inc. upon the
occasion of its special Announcement Party on June 27, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend organizations and individuals of true purpose and worthy cause
whose dedication and commitment are given in service to others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to recognize and
commend Lenny's Lighthouse, Inc., an organization of exemplary accom-
plishment, upon the occasion of its special Announcement Party, to be
held at The Royal Palace in Brooklyn on Sunday, June 27, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Lenny's Lighthouse was founded by parents, many of whom are
Russian speaking, concerned about the lack of residential opportunities
available for their children with special needs; and
WHEREAS, Established in 2007, Lenny's Lighthouse, Inc. is a not-for-
profit organization created by individuals with a long history of
providing services for the special needs community for the purpose of
establishing and maintaining safe environments where residents with
developmental disabilities will be treated with respect and compassion;
and
WHEREAS, Lenny's Lighthouse programs are open to adults of different
ages, disabilities, and levels of functioning in the boroughs of Brook-
lyn and Queens; and
WHEREAS, On the auspicious occasion of its June 27, 2010 celebration,
Lenny's Lighthouse will proudly announce the expansion of its programs
to include appropriate residential placements in order to provide a
secure future for adults with special needs; and
WHEREAS, Lenny's Lighthouse fulfills its responsibilities with spirit
and determination, providing leadership and significantly contributing
to the enhancement of the quality of life of thousands of New Yorkers
and their families; and
WHEREAS, The programs and services of Lenny's Lighthouse provide a
model for improving the quality and dignity of life and, as such, merit
the grateful appreciation of the citizens of the City and State of New
York; and
WHEREAS, Recognizing the strength of its commitment and the benefit of
its service, this Legislative Body extends its highest commendation to
Lenny's Lighthouse, Inc., applauding its preeminent programs and wishing
it success in its new endeavor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Lenny's Lighthouse, Inc. upon the occasion of its special
Announcement Party on June 27, 2010; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mikhail Golod, President of Lenny's Lighthouse, Inc.
