LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Reverend Donald R. Work upon the occa-
sion of his designation as Legionnaire of the Year by Franklin County

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Reverend Donald R. Work upon the occasion of his designation as Legion-
naire of the Year by Franklin County; and
WHEREAS, Donald Work of St. Regis Falls Post 322, received this honor
for his dedicated service to his post and community; he is a veteran of
the United States Army PARNG (1964-1966), where he served with the 131st
Transportation Company, 3rd Battalion, 109th Infantry; and
WHEREAS, A 12-year legion member, Donald Work serves as post chaplain
and post service officer; in these capacities, he actively works with
various veteran agencies in support of the service members in the United
States and abroad; and
WHEREAS, Upon his separation from service, Donald Work attended
Theological College and has been with the Baptist Church for more than
40 years; and
WHEREAS, A past fire chief and a member of his local fire department,
Donald Work is an ordained minister who volunteers numerous hours in his
community working with families who lack resources; in addition, he
provides spiritual counseling for those in need; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Donald Work's distinguished record
merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Reverend Donald R. Work upon the occasion of his designation as
Legionnaire of the Year by Franklin County; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Reverend Donald R. Work.
