LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Rabbi Shlomo Blickstein as he is
honored by the Bay Terrace Jewish Center in celebration of his 10th
Anniversary of service to the congregation on July 24, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to individuals of faith and commitment who have devoted their
untiring energy and purposeful lives in service to their faith and to
others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is honored to commend Rabbi
Shlomo Blickstein as he is honored by the Bay Terrace Jewish Center in
celebration of his 10th Anniversary of his service to the congregation
on July 24, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Located in the Bay Terrace community, the Bay Terrace Jewish
Center is a thriving conservative congregation with a vital Hebrew
School and a full range of religious, social and educational programs;
and
WHEREAS, Rabbi Shlomo Blickstein, celebrating his 10th Anniversary as
the spiritual leader of the Bay Terrace Jewish Center, previously served
as the Rabbi at the Rego Park Jewish Center in Queens for 19 years; and
WHEREAS, The synagogue is the common spiritual home of a congregation;
in it rests the heritage of the Jewish people and from it stems the
teaching and the practice of its treasured values and traditions; and
WHEREAS, The true architects of society and community are our spiritu-
al leaders whose faith and unremitting commitment serve to sustain and
enhance the spiritual and cultural values of life; Rabbi Shlomo Blick-
stein, a caring and compassionate man, has distinguished himself in his
profession and by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to
the Bay Terrace Jewish Center and its congregants; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of his worthy endeavors, this Legislative Body
is proud to extend its highest commendation to Rabbi Shlomo Blickstein
for his commitment to his faith and his heritage; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Rabbi Shlomo Blickstein as he is honored by the Bay Terrace
Jewish Center in celebration of his 10th Anniversary of service to the
congregation on July 24, 2010; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Rabbi Shlomo Blickstein.
