LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending The All Fours Alliance USA, Inc. upon
the occasion of hosting its World Cup Tournament

WHEREAS, A Great State is only as great as those individuals and organ-
izations who perform exemplary service on behalf of their community,
whether through unique achievement in professional or other endeavors,
or simply through a lifetime of good citizenship; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate
those events of historical significance which add strength, vigor and
inspiration to the cultural diversity and quality of life in the commu-
nities of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
The All Fours Alliance USA, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its World
Cup Tournament; and
WHEREAS, The All Fours Alliance USA, Inc., incorporated in 1981, is a
community-based organization pledged to promote and maintain Caribbean
culture through the pastime activity-turned-business providing enter-
tainment and employment; attracting an audience of more than 2,000
participants and supporters during the playoffs, the World Cup of All
Fours Alliance is scheduled to take place on June 12 - 13, 2010, at the
Cultural Performing Arts Center in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, All Fours is the national card game of Trinidad and Tobago;
there are now 28 member teams forming the Alliance; and
WHEREAS, The World Cup of All Fours 2010 will consist of players from
across the United States, Canada, and Trinidad and Tobago; the World Cup
was established in 2000, and although the All Fours Alliance was formed
in New York City in 1981 and organized competitions began in 1971, it
was created by Winston and Ann Walker in Queens; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The All Fours Alliance USA, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting
its World Cup Tournament; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed be trans-
mitted to the All Fours Alliance USA, Inc.
