LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Fork Hold International Restaurant
and Bar upon the occasion of a Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
on Friday, July 23, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend
the Fork Hold International Restaurant and Bar upon the occasion of a
Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Friday, July 23, 2010 in
Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Wyckland Charles, born to parents Terrence and Gloria Charles
emigrated to the United States of America from the Republic of Guyana,
South America; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Charles had a passion for Caribbean-American food and
culture which led him to open his own restaurant, bar and lounge in the
heart of Brooklyn's Caribbean community; this community has the largest
concentration of West Indians, including Guyanese, Trinidadians and
Jamaicans in the United States; and
WHEREAS, At Fork Hold International Restaurant and Bar, you will find
food that everyone craves along with its more than affordable prices;
hiring staff with the utmost of professionalism, Mr. Charles has his
dishes prepared daily using fresh ingredients with an atmosphere full of
laughter and good times; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Fork Hold International Restaurant and Bar upon the occasion
of a Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Wyckland Charles, Owner, Fork Hold International Restaurant.
