LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Chris Sampson upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the George M. Schofield Distinguished
Service Award from the Rockland County YMCA

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons and
organizations that provide exemplary service, whether through partic-
ipation in voluntary programs, through unique personal achievement in
their profession or other endeavors, or simply through a lifetime of
good citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Chris Sampson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
George M. Schofield Distinguished Service Award from the Rockland County
YMCA at its 122nd Annual meeting held at the Nyack Seaport; and
WHEREAS, Chris Sampson received this illustrious award for his dedi-
cated service as a YMCA leader on both the local and national level; and
WHEREAS, He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the past
five years; currently, he is the Chairman of the YMCA Capital Campaign
Committee for Children and Families, and serves on the YMCA's East Field
Committee on Membership Standards; and
WHEREAS, Chris Sampson recently announced the YMCA has launched a
Capital Campaign for Children and Families to renovate its main facility
in Nyack and add to its endowment fund to provide youth scholarships;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Chris Sampson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the George M. Schofield Distinguished Service Award from the Rockland
County YMCA; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Chris Sampson.
