LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kevin Gallagher upon the occasion of his
retirement after 38 years of distinguished service

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 16 years, Kevin Gallagher rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Thrall Public Library District of
Middletown and Wallkill; and
WHEREAS, Prior to that, Kevin Gallagher served in several capacities,
including Director at Adriance Memorial Library in the Greater Pough-
keepsie Library District, Assistant Director and Reference Librarian at
Adriance Memorial Library, and Librarian at Green Haven Correctional
Facility; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as Executive Director at Thrall Public
Library District of Middletown and Wallkill, Kevin Gallagher served with
loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Kevin Gallagher was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, Kevin Gallagher has been affiliated with the Southeastern
Board, the American Library Association/Public Libraries Association,
the New York Library Association and the Central Libraries Directors
Association; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Donna, and their
children, Erin, Siobhan and Sean, as well as their two grandchildren,
all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with Thrall Public Library District of
Middletown and Wallkill, Kevin Gallagher earned the admiration, esteem
and affection of his colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kevin Gallagher upon the occasion of his retirement after 38 years
of distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kevin Gallagher.
