LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Tim Morey for his work as a 911
dispatcher who supervised a baby's birth

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Tim
Morey for his work as a 911 dispatcher who supervised a baby's birth;
and
WHEREAS, On February 20, 2010, Edwin Levy Sr. of Woodbourne called 911
to request urgent help because his wife, Stephanie, was ready to have a
baby; as it turned out, the baby was closer to birth more quickly than
Edwin knew; while he was talking on the phone, the delivery started and
there was no time to get to a hospital; and
WHEREAS, Tim Morey, a 911 dispatcher who was on the other end of the
line, calmly told Edwin Levy how to proceed; about three and a half
minutes later, a young Edwin Jr. was born; and
WHEREAS, Tim Morey was presented with a plaque and a pin, shaped like
a stork with a baby in its mouth; Mr. Morey was praised for staying calm
on the phone with the caller until EMS arrived, and coaching him on
tying the cord, clearing the baby's airway and keeping him warm; it was
a true success; and
WHEREAS, Tim Morey's distinguished record merits the recognition and
respectful tribute of this Legislative Body; he is a true asset to soci-
ety; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tim Morey for his work as a 911 dispatcher who supervised a baby's
birth; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tim Morey.
