LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Ocean Avenue Tenants Association
upon the occasion of its 25 years of service to the Flatbush/Midwood
community

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Ocean Avenue Tenants Association upon the occasion of its 25 years
of service to the Flatbush/Midwood community, to be celebrated on Satur-
day, July 31, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Ocean Avenue Tenants Association, this
special event is a Christmas in July celebration which will give out
free food, school supplies, books and toys to the needy children of the
Brooklyn community; and
WHEREAS, Ocean Avenue Tenants Association is enriched ethnically,
culturally, and filled with diversity; it is a community which works
together as a family to make it a safe and productive environment in
which to live; and
WHEREAS, Ably led by President Bernice Parris, the Ocean Avenue
Tenants Association continues to prosper today and will well into the
future; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Ocean Avenue Tenants Association's
distinguished record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of
this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Ocean Avenue Tenants Association upon the occasion of its 25
years of service to the Flatbush/Midwood community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bernice Parris, President, Ocean Avenue Tenants Association.
