LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Past Grand Knight of Knights of Colum-
bus St. Ambrose Council 1463 Michael Palumbo upon the occasion of his
designation for special honor on April 3, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus St. Ambrose Council 1463 Micha-
el Palumbo upon the occasion of his designation for special honor on
April 3, 2009; and
WHEREAS, During his two-year term as Grand Knight of Knights of Colum-
bus St. Ambrose Council 1463, Michael Palumbo commanded a membership of
close to 300 people, including both organizations of Brother Knights and
Sister Columbiettes; and
WHEREAS, Michael Palumbo also handled the wake services for members,
provided dinner to the needy in the College Point community, coordinated
the massive effort to welcome and feed over 200 active United States
Marines and Naval personnel during Fleet Week and has marched in the
College Point Memorial Day Parade; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Michael Palumbo organized numerous fundraisers
throughout his term to benefit many social groups in the College Point
and Whitestone communities; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Michael Palumbo and to wish him
continued success in all of his future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus St. Ambrose Council
1463 Michael Palumbo upon the occasion of his designation for special
honor on April 3, 2009; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michael Palumbo.
