LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Marsel Amona upon the occasion of his
designation as Chesed Honoree by Congregation Shaarey Israel on June 7,
2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals and organizations of remarkable integ-
rity and character who distinguish themselves in service to their faith
and community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Marsel Amona upon the occasion of his designation as Chesed Honoree by
Congregation Shaarey Israel at its inaugural Journal Dinner Dance on
June 7, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Marsel Amona has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for this special honor; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, Marsel Amona has graciously donated his time
and effort on behalf of the congregation and contributed towards the
special needs of Congregation Shaarey Israel; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Marsel Amona has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; rare indeed is the impressive dedication
shown by an individual for the benefit of others which he has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Marsel Amona upon the occasion of his designation as Chesed
Honoree by Congregation Shaarey Israel on June 7, 2009; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marsel Amona.
