LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Lions Club of Kingston upon the
occasion of celebrating their 67th Lion's EXPO

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those fraternal organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Lions Club of Kingston upon the occasion of celebrating their 67th
Lion's EXPO on Sunday, March 22, 2009; and
WHEREAS, This event is the major social function for the club, who in
turn gives back to the community; and
WHEREAS, The Lions Club of Kingston continues to support the blind
through the Holiday Dinner in November and the spring picnic; in addi-
tion, the disadvantaged youth are supported through multiple initi-
atives, including holiday shopping in December, supporting Babe Ruth and
other baseball leagues, and assisting in many other events; and
WHEREAS, The Lions Club of Kingston also assists many not for profit
agencies including: the Salvation Army and their diabetes program; the
Ulster Literacy Association; the Office of Aging Care-A-Van; and the
Juvenile Diabetes Association, to name a few; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor and commend
the members of the Lions Club of Kingston, past and present, who have
labored so conscientiously to secure and improve the quality of life for
the community it serves; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Lions Club of Kingston upon the occasion of celebrating
their 67th Lion's EXPO; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Lions Club of Kingston.
