LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Brewster
Elks Lodge No. 2101 on July 17, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those fraternal organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 50th Anniversary of Brewster Elks Lodge No. 2101 to be cele-
brated on Friday, July 17, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its distinguished history, Brewster Elks Lodge No.
2101 has demonstrated the value of fostering camaraderie in a shared
vision of community service; this mission is indicative of a noble
organization which epitomizes the heart and soul of what it means to be
an American; and
WHEREAS, Brewster Elks Lodge No. 2101 has made significant contrib-
utions to numerous local organizations, including: Green Chimneys, PARC,
Senior Citizens, United Way, March of Dimes, as well as Girl Scouts, Boy
Scouts, and Cub Scouts; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Brewster Elks Lodge No. 2101 has helped count-
less others through their dedication to aid veteran causes, local high
school programs and scholarships, and senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Brewster Elks Lodge No. 2101 is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeav-
ors on behalf of the Lodge and the population it serves; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor and commend
the members of the Brewster Elks Lodge No. 2101, past and present, who
have labored so conscientiously to secure and improve the quality of
life for the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Brewster Elks Lodge No. 2101; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brewster Elks Lodge No. 2101, Brewster, New York.
