LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Melissa Sheehan upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition as recipient of the 2009
Chamber Member of the Year Award by the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of individuals that
generously contribute to the welfare of the community and its citizenry;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Melissa Sheehan upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition as recipient of the 2009 Chamber Member of the Year Award by
the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce; this auspicious occasion will be
celebrated at the 62nd Annual Awards Program of the West Seneca Chamber
of Commerce, to be held at Kloc's Grove, West Seneca, New York, on
Saturday, April 4, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Melissa Sheehan is the owner of SynchroNet, a business she
started with her husband 11 years ago and which now has eight employees;
and
WHEREAS, At SynchroNet, Melissa Sheehan has refined and developed many
roles and processes over the years, including billing, AP, AR, purchas-
ing, inside sales, tech support, and client technology recommendations
and implementation; many of these tasks have now been assigned to full
time employees; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Melissa Sheehan takes a part time role at Synchro-
Net, primarily concentrating in vendor relationship development, inside
sales, and client technology recommendations and assessments; and
WHEREAS, A full time mother and wife as well, Melissa Sheehan takes an
active role in her boys' school, the Queen of Heaven School and, in
particular, the Home School Guild; she spends countless hours fixing and
configuring the school's computer network and maintaining its security;
she maintains two servers, a firewall, the barracuda internet security
appliance and about 60 computers; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Melissa Sheehan assists the Queen of Heaven
School - Home School Guild in making: technology procurement decisions
related to security procedures, internal and external hardware and soft-
ware purchases, upgrade recommendations, and installation coordination
and physical equipment roll outs; and
WHEREAS, An active member of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce,
Melissa Sheehan is always willing to contribute her time and talents to
the organization; she is active on all committees and works with the
administrative director on all events; she spends countless hours reor-
ganizing the office, and is present and prepared at all Board meetings;
and
WHEREAS, Melissa Sheehan's passion and enthusiasm on behalf of the
West Seneca Chamber of Commerce and the entire West Seneca business
community is remarkable; and
WHEREAS, Melissa Sheehan and her husband of nine years, Jerry, are the
proud parents of three boys, Jeremy, Gavin, and Brayden; Melissa is
active in the boys' participation in hockey, baseball and gymnastics;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Melissa Sheehan has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the
respect and admiration of her colleagues, family and friends; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an indi-
vidual of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, she should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Melissa Sheehan upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition as recipient of the 2009 Chamber Member of the Year
Award by the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Melissa Sheehan, West Seneca, New York.
