LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Orange County Shields upon the occasion
of its 40th Anniversary, to be celebrated in October 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of individuals and
organizations which devote themselves to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Orange County Shields upon the occasion of its 40th Anniversary, to be
celebrated with a Dinner Dance in October 2010; and
WHEREAS, Orange County Shields was formed in 1970, to provide a
fraternal and social organization for all active and retired law
enforcement personnel who live or work in Orange County; and
WHEREAS, Orange County Shields meets at the Monell Engine Company
Firehouse on Main Street in Washingtonville; and
WHEREAS, True citizens of Orange County, the members of Orange County
Shields believe in giving back to the community they love so much; it
holds annual events to promote camaraderie, conducts blood drives, and
tries to assist those that seek its aid; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Orange County Shields and its members, past and present, upon the
occasion of its 40th Anniversary, to be celebrated in October 2010; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Orange County Shields, Chester, New York.
