LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Charles Finin upon the occasion of
his designation by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce as the
recipient of its 2009 Businessperson of the Year Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the achievements of individuals, organizations, and businesses
which contribute substantially to the economic health and vitality of
the communities of the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Charles Finin, president of Mesa Technical Associates, Inc., upon
the occasion of his designation by the Schoharie County Chamber of
Commerce as the recipient of its 2009 Businessperson of the Year Award;
and
WHEREAS, Charles Finin will be honored at the chamber's Annual Meeting
and Business Awards Dinner to be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the
Best Western Inn of Cobleskill in Cobleskill, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes
business people in Schoharie County who have been successful in provid-
ing good products and services to clients and customers, and who have
treated their employees and business associates in a fair and responsi-
ble manner; and
WHEREAS, Community involvement, stability, longevity and advancement
of the quality of life of the community are other factors which are
considered by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce in conferring its
annual business awards; and
WHEREAS, Mesa Technical Associates, Inc., led by President Charles
"Chuck" Finin, is a full line DC power, sales and service organization
headquartered in Cobleskill, New York, where it also maintains a
warehouse/distribution center where it stocks many of the products it
provides; and
WHEREAS, Mesa's primary business focus is servicing the power gener-
ation, transmission, and distribution segments of the utility business
and the inside and outside plant segments of the telecommunications
industry; and
WHEREAS, Mesa utilizes representatives throughout the United States,
and provides engineering and installation services as well as DC power
products for its customers, which include telecommunications companies,
such as Sprint-Nextel, and utility companies, such as National Grid; and
WHEREAS, Mesa engineers and designs systems based on electrical and
mechanical requirements and provides products from various manufacturers
depending on the solution that best fits the customer's needs; and
WHEREAS, The products Mesa furnishes come from a wide range of both
domestic and European manufacturers; it is the exclusive American
distributor of Alpha Battery Racks, manufactured in Italy, and also
supplies a wide variety of battery chargers, including its own Mesa
brand units; and
WHEREAS, Under Charles Finin's leadership, Mesa also performs on-site
battery installation, maintenance, and customized on-site system testing
up to 240vdc at 1200 amperes; and
WHEREAS, Charles Finin is very involved with the community; he works
hard to generate pride in his community and has enhanced the quality of
life in Schoharie County; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge such
outstanding individuals as Charles Finin whose professional lives,
personal endeavors and community service are an example and inspiration
to their colleagues, friends, and family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Charles Finin upon the occasion of his designation by the
Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of its 2009 Busi-
nessperson of the Year Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Charles Finin.
