LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Michelle and Rick Eastman for receiving
the Distinguished Partners in Education Award from St. Mary's School in
Oneonta, New York

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Michelle and Rick Eastman have given not only of their time
and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership
and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Michelle and
Rick Eastman upon receiving the Distinguished Partners in Education
Award from St. Mary's School in Oneonta, New York, to be celebrated on
Saturday, March 20, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Michelle and Rick Eastman have been called upon to contribute
their time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and
have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Michelle and Rick Eastman have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Residents of Oneonta, New York, Michelle and Rick Eastman
have been supportive financially and through their sincere devotion of
time to many projects at St. Mary's; and
WHEREAS, Rick Eastman is the president of general contractor, Eastman
Associates; a board member for AO Fox Hospital, he has served for many
years as president of Tri County Builders' Exchange; Michelle Eastman
has served on boards for the YMCA, Newman Club; and
WHEREAS, Active in the community, Michelle and Rick Eastman are busi-
ness members of NFIB, Otsego County Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater
Oneonta Historical Society; they are avid supporters of St. Mary's
School and Church and are willing to assist in any capacity; and
WHEREAS, Instrumental in the new construction of St. Mary's School ten
years ago, Michelle and Rick Eastman's distinguished record merits the
recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body; they are
true assets to society; and
WHEREAS, With them throughout have been their three children, Jenni-
fer, Candace, and Nathan, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
their lives and rejoice in their achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Michelle and Rick Eastman have displayed
throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Michelle and Rick Eastman for receiving the Distinguished Partners
in Education Award from St. Mary's School in Oneonta, New York; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michelle and Rick Eastman.
