LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Barb Schmid upon the occasion of her
retirement from the Baldwinsville Central School District

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those illustrious individuals of distinguished purpose whose
lives have been committed to educating our youth; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor
Barb Schmid upon the occasion of her retirement from the Baldwinsville
Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Barb Schmid grew up in the Buffalo area and taught in Homer
prior to joining the Baldwinsville Central School District; and
WHEREAS, For 30 years, Barb taught elementary general music and chorus
at Elden Elementary School; additionally, she organized the winter and
spring concerts, featuring the school's fourth and fifth grade choruses,
and organized the school's annual Flag Day Celebration; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, Barb devoted herself to her students in the summer
by providing musical therapy for special education students; and
WHEREAS, Barb is passionate about music and musical theater; she is an
active member of the Community Theater Guild and loves attending musical
theater performances; and
WHEREAS, In addition to being a devoted educator, Barb is a mother and
loves spending time with her daughters; she loves to quilt and sew, make
wine, and works at Weight Watchers where she is also a life-long member;
and
WHEREAS, For 30 years, Barb Schmid has been devoted to educating chil-
dren by teaching, and sharing her passion for music; as an educator, she
has made such a wonderful difference in the lives of our future gener-
ations, and she deserves to be commended for her investment in our
students; her hard work, commitment and dedication have a positive
impact that goes far beyond the classroom; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Barb Schmid for her 30 years of service to the Baldwinsville
Central School District, and to wish her well in her retirement; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barb Schmid.
