LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Bruce and Susan Peckman upon the occa-
sion of their designation for special recognition by Temple Israel of
Long Beach on May 23, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Bruce and Susan Peckman upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by the Officers and Trustees of Temple Israel of
Long Beach in its Charles A. Silver Ballroom on Sunday, May 23, 2010;
and
WHEREAS, For over 30 years, Bruce and Susan Peckman have dedicated
their lives to the community of Long Beach; together, they have impacted
the lives of many; and
WHEREAS, Bruce and Susan Peckman have spent their careers working in
health care and have donated their time and energy to giving back to
their community; and
WHEREAS, Bruce is a Chief Operating Officer at the Highfield Garden
Care Center of Great Neck, a Health Care Consultant, and an adjunct
Professor at Hofstra; and
WHEREAS, Since 1973, Bruce has worked in and with physician groups,
hospitals, nursing homes, health care groups and is a clinician himself;
and
WHEREAS, This past spring Bruce testified before the Public Hearing of
the Senate Standing Committee on Investigation and Government Operations
on "Reforming Medicaid - Investigating Current Strategies Targeting
Waste, Fraud and Abuse" on behalf of health care providers; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned recognition and applause; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bruce and Susan Peckman upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by Temple Israel of Long Beach, and to express its
highest admiration for all their hard work and continued services to
their community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bruce and Susan Peckman.
