LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Inspire, an
affiliate of Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the 60th
Anniversary of Inspire, an affiliate of Cerebral Palsy Associations of
New York State; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated on Saturday,
June 5, 2010, at a 60th Anniversary Fun Fest to be held at the Orange
County Park; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1950 as Orange County Cerebral Palsy Association,
Inc., for 60 years, Inspire has been providing services to people with
disabilities throughout Orange County; it provides vital assistance for
adults and children, including outpatient rehabilitation, service coor-
dination, early intervention, family support services and special needs
preschools in three Orange County communities; and
WHEREAS, Inspire's mission is to form partnerships with people who
have special challenges in order to maximize their capabilities to lead
fuller lives by: providing quality person-centered services to meet
individual challenges; informing and educating about development, inter-
vention, and resources; promoting understanding of special challenges
and inclusion within the community; and developing new and ongoing
programs in response to changing community needs; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents a unique opportunity for this Legisla-
tive Body to recognize and pay tribute to Inspire; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought
to our attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the
citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Inspire, an affiliate of Cerebral
Palsy Associations of New York State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Inspire, 2 Fletcher Street, Goshen, New York 10924.
