LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the 1959-60 Linton High School Golf Team
upon the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of its undefeated season

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding athletes who distinguish themselves through their excep-
tional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the highest
level of personal achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor
the 1959-60 Linton High School Golf Team upon the occasion of the 50th
Anniversary of its undefeated season; this auspicious occasion will be
celebrated at the 13th Annual Schenectady City School District Athletic
Hall of Fame and Reunion Dinner, to be held on Monday, September 13,
2010, at Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Schenectady City School District Athletic Hall of Fame
was established in 1998 to honor those individuals who have made signif-
icant contributions to the history and tradition of sports in the Sche-
nectady City School District; and
WHEREAS, Coached by Walt Przybylo, the 1959-60 Linton High School Golf
Team finished its outstanding season with a perfect 11-0 record; it had
a 35 match unbeaten win streak over three seasons; and
WHEREAS, Led by medalist Jim Reid, the 1959-60 Linton High School Golf
Team won the sectionals by one stroke over Niskayuna High School; it was
the seventh sectional title in 11 years for Nott Terrace/Linton High
School; and
WHEREAS, The 1959-60 Linton High School Golf Team went on to the
intersectional tournament and defeated Union-Endicott High School to
capture the New York State Championship; and
WHEREAS, Schenectady City School District Athletic Hall of Famer,
Peter Famiano, was a member of the 1959-60 Linton High School Golf Team;
he became a golf pro and was inducted into the New Jersey PGA Hall of
Fame; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the undefeated
1959-60 Linton High School Golf Team; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations with
praise and pride to honor the 1959-60 Linton High School Golf Team upon
the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of its undefeated season; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the members of the 1959-60 Linton High School Golf Team.
