LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Auburn High School Football Coach
David Moskov upon the occasion of being designated as a 2010 Tyburn
Academy Sports Honoree

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Auburn High School Football Coach David Moskov upon the occasion of
being designated as a 2010 Tyburn Academy Sports Honoree; and
WHEREAS, This event will take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at
the Sennett Fire House; and
WHEREAS, David "Dave" Moskov graduated from Niskayuna High School in
Niskayuna, New York, in 1984 where he played football for three years;
after high school, he went on to college and graduated from the Univer-
sity at Albany in 1989 where he started at defensive tackle for two
years; and
WHEREAS, While living in Albany, Dave Moskov worked at the LaSalle
School for one year and Shaker High school for four years; he also
coached football at Niskayuna High School for six years; and
WHEREAS, In 1994, Dave Moskov moved to Auburn with his fiancee and
started working at Auburn High School as a special education teacher; he
married his wife, Karin, in 1995 and coached football at Skaneateles for
two years; and
WHEREAS, In 1997, Dave Moskov became the Auburn High head football
coach; Dave continues to reside in Auburn with his wife Karin and their
four children; Abbie, Charlie, Grace, and Henry; he remains a teacher at
Auburn High and is in his 14th year as the head football coach; and
WHEREAS, In 2006, the Auburn Maroons won the New York State AA foot-
ball championship; the season and the victory unified the entire Auburn
community which set the all-time high school football attendance record
at the Carrier Dome; and
WHEREAS, In 2007 and 2009, the Maroons won two division titles; in
addition to tremendous on-field success, the Maroons have also accom-
plished many things in the classroom and community; the Auburn High
football team has maintained a graduation rate of 95% or better; they
have sent countless students on to college and the military; and
WHEREAS, The Auburn High School football team has maintained a tradi-
tion of year-round community service by working at the Boyle Center,
reading with elementary students, working at the Soap Box Derby, helping
with youth summer camps, participating in community events and cleaning
up playgrounds and parks and many other volunteer programs; most of this
service is to be attributed to Coach David Moskov; and
WHEREAS, Coach David Moskov's distinguished record merits the recogni-
tion and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Auburn High School Football Coach David Moskov upon the occasion
of being designated as a 2010 Tyburn Academy Sports Honoree; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Coach David Moskov.
