LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Yvonne D. McClusky upon the occa-
sion of celebrating her 10th Anniversary as the Executive Director of
the North Utica Senior Citizens Community Center

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Yvonne D. McClusky has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership, and conse-
quently has been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Yvonne D. McClusky upon the occasion of celebrating her 10th Anni-
versary as the Executive Director of the North Utica Senior Citizens
Community Center; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the North Utica Senior Citizens Community
Center is to provide intergenerational programs and services, such as
recreational, educational, cultural, social and wellness to seniors,
children, and teens in the greater Utica area; and to encourage the
active participation of its members in the planning and conducting of
these activities, thereby enriching their quality of life; and
WHEREAS, Health and wellness activities are vital to aging seniors;
the North Utica Senior Citizens Community Center offers a wide range of
health programs, including exercise activities and classes, workshops,
health screenings, educational programs, guest speakers, and recreation-
al programs and trips; and
WHEREAS, The Children's Center of the North Utica Senior Citizens
Community Center offers a universal pre-K program, consisting of two and
one-half hours of instruction, five days per week, throughout the school
year; and
WHEREAS, On March 1, 1999, Yvonne D. McClusky began her distinguished
career as Executive Director of the North Utica Senior Citizens Communi-
ty Center in Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, Among her original goals was the desire to meet each and
every member of the North Utica Senior Citizens Community Center and
hear how the Center could be a role model for all others; her objective
was to make the Center a place which members would want to visit every
day; and
WHEREAS, Ten years later, Yvonne D. McClusky can proudly proclaim that
many of her original goals have been met and that the Center is a role
model for others, as well as a place members want to visit every day;
and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Yvonne D. McClusky has displayed
throughout her life and career; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Yvonne D. McClusky upon the occasion of celebrating her
10th Anniversary as the Executive Director of the North Utica Senior
Citizens Community Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Yvonne D. McClusky, Executive Director, North Utica Senior
Citizens Community Center, 50 Riverside Drive, Utica, New York 13502.
