LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Lev Bais Yaakov upon the occasion of
its 12th Annual Dinner on March 22, 2009 and paying tribute to the hono-
rees of the evening

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in the Empire State is great-
ly enriched by the faithful and generous service of those who devote
themselves to endeavors of family, faith and community, and to the
education of the youth of the community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize insti-
tutions of true purpose and high achievement and to commend individuals
who contribute to its excellence, and in so doing, inspire others to do
the same; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor
Lev Bais Yaakov upon the occasion of its 12th Annual Dinner, to be held
at Kamenitz Hall in Brooklyn on March 22, 2009, and to applaud those it
will honor on that special evening; and
WHEREAS, Lev Bais Yaakov, led by Executive Director Rabbi Shmiel
Deutsch, has established itself as an institution which provides its
students with an educational and religious foundation which is both
strong and enduring; it is widely recognized throughout Brooklyn and
beyond for its excellence and innovation in both secular and Jewish
education; and
WHEREAS, As Lev Bais Yaakov begins the celebration of its 13th, or Bas
Mitzvah, year of educating the young women of Brooklyn, it proudly
recognizes several outstanding individuals who have contributed to the
school and their community in unique ways; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mr. and Mrs.
Yitzchok Widroff, dedicated and devoted parents, upon the occasion of
their designation by Lev Bais Yaakov as its Parents of the Year and to
applaud Mechanchos Mrs. Leah Zytman, Principal of General Studies and
Menaheles; Mrs. Miriam Fishman, Principal of Hebrew Studies; and Mrs.
Michele Scholar, Preschool Director, as they are recognized for their
dedication to enriching the minds of all the children who pass through
the halls of Lev Bais Yaakov; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
note the excellence of Lev Bais Yaakov's educational program and the
dedication of its professional staff and its concerned and involved
parents, to wish it well as it looks forward to occupying its new facil-
ities, and to extend its highest commendation to the school and its
honorees for their dedication and commitment to their heritage and to
their community and its children; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Lev Bais Yaakov upon the occasion of its 12th Annual Dinner on
March 22, 2009 and to pay tribute to the honorees of the evening; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lev Bais Yaakov and to Mr. and Mrs. Yitzchok Widroff, Mrs.
Leah Zytman, Mrs. Miriam Fishman and Mrs. Michele Scholar.
