LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Mike Langan upon the occasion of
his designation as the recipient of the 2008 Business Person of the Year
Award by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Mike Langan upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient
of the 2008 Business Person of the Year Award by the Schoharie County
Chamber of Commerce; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the
Chamber's annual meeting to be held on Friday, January 23, 2009, at The
Best Western in Cobleskill, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes
business people in Schoharie County who have been successful in provid-
ing good products and services to clients and customers, and who have
treated their employees and business associates in a fair and responsi-
ble manner; and
WHEREAS, Community involvement, stability, longevity and advancement
of the quality of life are other factors which are given consideration
by the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce in conferring its annual
business awards; and
WHEREAS, Mike Langan of Langan Funeral Home has been involved in the
Schoharie County community for his entire life; with the recent acquisi-
tion of an additional funeral home, he is the owner of three businesses
located in Schoharie County; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Mike Langan is very involved with the community
through his efforts with the Kiwanis Club; he works hard to generate
pride in his community and has advanced the quality of life in Schoharie
County; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Mike Langan has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the respect
and admiration of his colleagues, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Mike Langan has displayed throughout
his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mike Langan upon the occasion of his designation as the
recipient of the 2008 Business Person of the Year Award by the Schoharie
County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mike Langan.
