LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 85th Anniversary of Savannah
Bank, N.A.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality and
character of life in this great Empire State is indelibly enriched by
the faithful efforts of those financial institutions and their leader-
ship who devote their purpose to promoting economic vitality and service
the public need; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 85th Anniversary of Savannah Bank, N.A., to be celebrated on
Saturday, June 5, 2010; and
WHEREAS, On this special day, the Bank will be celebrating Savannah
Days along with the Re-Grand Opening of its main office in Savannah, New
York, after extensive remodeling; and
WHEREAS, Formerly known as The National Bank of Savannah, Savannah
Bank, N.A. is an independent community bank committed to enhancing
shareholders value by focusing on profitably serving the financial needs
and long-term banking relationships of individuals, families and busi-
nesses in the markets it serves; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1925, Savannah Bank, N.A. had one office in the
Town of Savannah, until its expansion in 1986; and
WHEREAS, In the 1960s, the Gelb and Glazer families of Rochester
acquired sufficient stock in Savannah Bank, N.A. providing them with
controlling interest; the two families continue to be active as manage-
ment and board members; and
WHEREAS, During the past year with the difficulties the large regional
and national banks have faced, Savannah Bank, N.A. remains strong; it
has five branch locations serving Cayuga, Wayne, and Seneca counties;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body looks favorably upon the strong role
which institutions such as Savannah Bank, N.A. play in strengthening the
social and economic fabric of our communities through providing growth
opportunities for citizens and businesses; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 85th Anniversary of Savannah Bank, N.A.; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Savannah Bank, N.A.
