LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Eric Cichy upon the occasion of receiv-
ing the Jeanne R. So Community Award from the United Way of Montgomery
County

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, Eric Cichy will be honored with the Jeanne R. So Community
Award from the United Way of Montgomery County during its annual awards
dinner to be held at the Raindancer on April 7, 2011; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes a person or persons whose
selfless dedication, leadership skills, adaptability, enthusiasm, and
vision have contributed to the betterment of the United Way of Montgom-
ery County and Montgomery County; and
WHEREAS, Eric organized the very successful "Bike Nights" at the
Recovery Grill, which raised significant funds for the United Way of
Montgomery County; he is already working on this year's events, which
begin in May; and
WHEREAS, He is a long-time volunteer for Amsterdam Youth Soccer, Amst-
erdam Little Giants Football, and CYO/Amsterdam Youth Recreational
Basketball; and
WHEREAS, Eric also contributes his time to the Fulton-Montgomery Coun-
ty 4H and countless charity events; and
WHEREAS, He is an Officer with the New York State Department of
Corrections and co-owner of Adirondack Safety Training; and
WHEREAS, Eric and his loving wife, Brenda, are the proud parents of
Kailee, Adam, Mackenzie, and Eric Cichy, Jr.; and
WHEREAS, His valuable contributions to the United Way of Montgomery
County are an inspiration to many others and exhibit the true spirit of
the prestigious Jeanne R. So Community Award; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Eric Cichy upon the occasion of receiving the Jeanne R. So Commu-
nity Award from the United Way of Montgomery County; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Eric Cichy.
