LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ray Cetnar upon the occasion of receiv-
ing the Delores Knutsen Award from the United Way of Montgomery County

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ray Cetnar
upon the occasion of receiving the Delores Knutsen Award from the United
Way of Montgomery County during its annual awards dinner on April 7,
2011; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes a volunteer, employee, or
board member of a United Way supported agency who has provided exemplary
service to the United Way of Montgomery County; and
WHEREAS, Ray has been involved in the Amsterdam Little Giants football
league since 1977, and has served in a variety of positions, including
President; he was instrumental in obtaining a building, donated by
Mohawk Finishing, which houses handicapped-accessible rest rooms, a
concession area, offices, and storage for the league; and
WHEREAS, He has helped to raise a significant amount in grants, and
gifts of goods and services; he has donated air-conditioning equipment,
office equipment and furniture to other non-profit organizations; and
WHEREAS, Ray is also a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of
the Elks and the American Legion; and
WHEREAS, He is the loving husband of Kathleen Cetnar; and
WHEREAS, His valuable contributions to the United Way of Montgomery
County are an inspiration to many others and exhibit the true spirit of
the prestigious Delores Knutsen Award; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ray Cetnar upon the occasion of receiving the Delores Knutsen
Award from the United Way of Montgomery County; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ray Cetnar.
