LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Stephan Schick upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the 2011 SULLIVAN COUNTY
DEMOCRAT Men at Work Edition

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Stephan Schick has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Stephan
Schick upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the 2011 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT Men at Work Edition; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Tri-Valley High School, Stephan Schick went on
to attend Cornell University and New York Law School; and
WHEREAS, With over 32 years of experience practicing law, Stephan
Schick currently serves as the Executive Director, Chief Administrator,
and Managing Attorney for Sullivan Legal Aid Panel, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, In these capacities, Stephan Schick provides legal represen-
tation to people in Sullivan County who lack the financial means to hire
private counsel; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his position with Sullivan County, Stephan
Schick is a partner in the law firm Schick and Havas, representing
clients in criminal defense, personal injury, real estate, and municipal
law; and
WHEREAS, Stephan Schick has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Past President of Sullivan County Bar Association, Stephan
Schick is a member of the Board of Trustees for WJFE Radio Catskill; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Stephan Schick has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, Donna, who feels priv-
ileged to be a part of his life and rejoices in his achievements; and
WHEREAS. Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Stephan Schick has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Stephan Schick upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the 2011 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT Men at Work Edition;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Stephan Schick, 429 Big Hollow Road, Grahamsville, New York
