LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Wallkill Boys Basketball Coach Kevin
Bach upon the occasion of his retirement after 32 distinguished years in
coaching

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to commend notable athletic coaches who
serve the youth of this great Empire State, and who have distinguished
themselves and their schools through outstanding commitment and exem-
plary athletic achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Wallkill Boys Basketball Coach Kevin Bach upon the occasion of his
retirement after 32 distinguished years in coaching; and
WHEREAS, Coach Kevin Bach's last game was a close one against Monti-
cello, where his Wallkill team lost and were eliminated 61-56 in the
Section 9 Class A opener on February 28, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Coach Kevin Bach's career record is 299-206 in 25 seasons as
a head coach, including the last six at Wallkill; retiring in June of
2010 as a guidance counselor after working 31 years in the Wallkill
district, he became recognizable during his time as a head coach at John
S. Burke Catholic (1985-2004); his record was 253-133 at Burke Catholic,
winning three Section 9 and seven divisional titles; and
WHEREAS, Coach Kevin Bach was a fixture in the Section 9 basketball
community for more than two decades; he was named the Varsity845 Coach
of the Year in 1987 and 1997; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Coach Kevin Bach has educated and
touched the lives of many students during his tenure; and
WHEREAS, Kevin Bach's positive demeanor, selfless commitment, and
caring concern have contributed to his enduring success as a coach and
mentor, earning him the just respect and admiration of his community,
his peers, and the athletes he has so ably coached; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Wallkill Boys Basketball Coach Kevin Bach upon the occasion of his
retirement after 32 distinguished years in coaching; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Coach Kevin Bach.
