LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Candice DioGuardi upon the occasion of
receiving a State University of New York Chancellor's Award for Student
Excellence

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exem-
plify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Candice DioGuardi, of Honeoye Falls, New York, upon the occasion of
receiving a State University of New York Chancellor's Award for Student
Excellence; and
WHEREAS, A student at State University of New York Purchase College,
Candice DioGuardi is a young woman of singular distinction and superla-
tive abilities who has established a high standard of academic excel-
lence and purposefulness of life rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence was created to
recognize State University students who have integrated academic excel-
lence with outstanding accomplishments in the areas of leadership,
athletics, community service, creative and performing arts, or career
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, Cand-
ice DioGuardi now stands honorably, with just pride in her accomplish-
ments and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and
appreciating the caring counsel and support provided by her teachers,
friends and family; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when young
people of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Candice DioGuardi upon the occasion of receiving a State Universi-
ty of New York Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, and to extend
to her its best wishes for a future of purposeful success and well-be-
ing, fully confident of her response to a promising future and appreci-
ative of the model she represents for all aspiring young people of the
Empire State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Candice DioGuardi.
