LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Hicksville Council of PTAs upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the Community Service Award
by the Hicksville Community Council on April 7, 2011

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Hicksville Council of PTAs upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Community Service Award by the Hicksville Community
Council, celebrated at its 41st Anniversary Dinner on Thursday, April 7,
2011, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hicksville, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Hicksville Council of PTAs is a coordinating body
comprised of representatives from each individual PTA working toward the
same goal, excellence in educational opportunities of all Hicksville
students; and
WHEREAS, This most auspicious award was bestowed upon the Hicksville
Council of PTAs by the Hicksville Community Council in appreciation and
recognition of their significant contributions to the educational commu-
nity of Hicksville, New York; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Hicksville Council of PTAs; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations honor-
ing the Hicksville Council of PTAs upon the occasion of its designation
as recipient of the Community Service Award by the Hicksville Community
Council on April 7, 2011; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Hicksville Council of PTAs.
