LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Karen Sarandis upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Registered Nurse of the Year Award by
the New York State Health Facilities Association

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those nurses from this great Empire State who have distin-
guished themselves through professional excellence and made significant
contributions to the quality of life of its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Karen Sarandis upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Registered Nurse of the Year Award by the New York State Health Facili-
ties Association; and
WHEREAS, For the past 17 years, Karen Sarandis has worked at the
Vestal Nursing Center, most recently as Assistant Director of Nursing;
and
WHEREAS, Karen Sarandis has earned the respect and admiration of her
fellow employees with her dedication to providing quality health care to
the residents; throughout the entire period of her distinguished career,
she has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Karen Sarandis has displayed throughout
her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Karen Sarandis upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Registered Nurse of the Year Award by the New York State Health
Facilities Association; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Karen Sarandis, Vestal, New York.
