LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Akron Optical Shop upon the occasion
of its designation by the Akron Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of
its 2011 Business of the Year Award on May 19, 2011

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York and individuals whose purposeful endeavors, as
involved members of the community, enhance the quality of life therein;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Akron Optical Shop and its owners Gina and Dwayne Sarow upon the
occasion of the shop's designation by the Akron Chamber of Commerce as
the recipient of its 2011 Business of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, The Akron Optical Shop and Gina and Dwayne Sarow will be
honored by the Akron Chamber of Commerce at its Annual Banquet, to be
held at the Newstead Fire Company's Banquet Hall in Akron, New York on
Thursday, May 19, 2011; and
WHEREAS, A locally owned and operated business, the Akron Optical
Shop, at 55 Main Street in the heart of "downtown" Akron, is a full-
time, full-service optical establishment open Monday through Saturday to
serve its clientele; and
WHEREAS, The Akron Optical Shop has an on-site lab and is happily able
to offer one hour service in most cases; it carries more than 2,500
frames in stock as well as prescription contact lenses and takes great
pride in its well-deserved motto: "DARE TO COMPARE SALES, SERVICE, AND
SELECTION"; and
WHEREAS, Most insurance plans are accepted by the Akron Optical Shop;
customers can have the shop's outstanding professional staff perform an
eye examination or they can bring in an outside prescription to be
filled; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to recognize the Akron Optical
Shop and its owners Gina and Dwayne Sarow for their commitment and
contributions to Akron and surrounding areas and to their quality of
life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when the noble
aims and accomplishments of businesses such as the Akron Optical Shop
and individuals such as Gina and Dwayne Sarow are brought to our atten-
tion it is appropriate to publicly proclaim and commend them for the
edification and emulation of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Akron Optical Shop upon the occasion of the shop's designation
by the Akron Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of its 2011 Business
of the Year Award on May 19, 2011; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Akron Optical Shop.
