LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Korean American Youth Foundation
upon the occasion of its 18th Annual Benefit Gala

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with its
time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those organiza-
tions, dedicated to the health and welfare of our young people, which
foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of cultural diversity which
strengthens the fabric of the communities of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Korean American Youth Foundation upon the occasion of its 18th Annual
Benefit Gala at Dae Dong Manor; and
WHEREAS, The Korean American Youth Foundation promotes leadership
skills and instills community values, while building networks between
the present and future generations of Korean American leaders; and
WHEREAS, A nonprofit, community-based mentoring organization, the
Korean American Youth Foundation works for youth advancement and devel-
opment; and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of its Presidents, Jeffery Kim and Hwang
Yong Lee, the Korean American Youth Foundation provides support and
resources to young people, particularly among minority and underprivi-
leged young people, so that they can thrive and become leaders in main-
stream society; and
WHEREAS, The Korean American Youth Foundation offers an online mentor-
ing program, career seminars, a leadership development program called
"We Are Future Leaders," and community service; and
WHEREAS, The work of the Korean American Youth Foundation is vitally
important to young people to find their place, their talents and their
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Korean American Youth Foundation upon the occasion of its 18th
Annual Benefit Gala; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jeffery Kim and Hwang Yong Lee, Presidents, the Korean Ameri-
can Youth Foundation.
