LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 2nd Annual New York State
Women, Inc. June Conference from June 3-5, 2011

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge and
celebrate organizations and events which add vitality, sensitivity,
understanding and inspiration to the diversity and values of the people
of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 2nd Annual New York State Women, Inc. June Conference to be
held at the Downtown Albany Hampton Inn and Suites in Albany, New York
from June 3-5, 2011; and
WHEREAS, New York State Women, Inc. is a statewide organization which
strives to promote women professionally, politically, and personally
through advocacy, education, and information; and
WHEREAS, A diversified organization, New York State Women, Inc. advo-
cates for civil rights, health and economic opportunity for all women;
and
WHEREAS, New York State Women, Inc. offers numerous programs address-
ing the needs of working women, health issues, planning retirement,
financial planning, and technology, to name a few; and
WHEREAS, New York State is home to countless women, strong and color-
ful threads vital to the fabric of our rich heritage, who have and
continue to contribute to the advancement of our culture through their
traditional and non-traditional roles in society; and
WHEREAS, New York State Women, Inc.'s evident commitment to provide
advocacy for working women and to continue in its noble mission of
advancing our society by ensuring women's rights and by aiding their
entry into all fields of endeavor have significantly contributed to
bettering the quality of life for all the citizens of this great Empire
State; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 2nd Annual New York State Women, Inc. June Conference
from June 3-5, 2011; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to New York State Women, Inc.
