LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Anne Sidamon-Eristoff upon the occasion
of her designation as recipient of the 2011 Best Friend Award by the
Friends of the Highland Falls Library on May 21, 2011

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of individuals who
devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Anne
Sidamon-Eristoff upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2011 Best Friend Award by the Friends of the Highland Falls Library,
to be celebrated on Saturday, May 21, 2011; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award is being bestowed upon Anne Sidamon-
Eristoff for her unfailing love and commitment to her community and the
Highland Falls Library; and
WHEREAS, Anne Sidamon-Eristoff has been a leader in many organizations
in the Hudson Valley and New York City, including the American Museum of
Natural History since 1967 where she is now Chairwoman Emerita; her
service to the Highland Falls Library, where she has been a board member
since 1958, reflects an equally strong commitment; and
WHEREAS, While her contributions and achievements are many, Anne Sida-
mon-Eristoff may be best known in her community for having spearheaded
the successful campaign and construction of the new library building at
298 Main Street in 2001; and
WHEREAS, Anne Sidamon-Eristoff has been called upon to contribute her
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Anne Sidamon-Eristoff has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Anne Sidamon-Eristoff upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the 2011 Best Friend Award by the Friends of the Highland
Falls Library; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Anne Sidamon-Eristoff.
