LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Victor Carucci upon the occasion of his
induction into the Greater Utica Sports Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding sports figures who distinguish themselves through their
exceptional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the highest
level of personal achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor
Victor Carucci upon the occasion of his induction into the Greater Utica
Sports Hall of Fame; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the
Hall's Class of 2011 Induction Ceremony, to be held on Sunday, June 5,
2011, at the Radisson Hotel-Utica Centre in Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, Noted and respected author of eight books, including four NEW
YORK TIMES bestsellers, Victor Carucci is currently a National Editor
and Senior Columnist at NFL.COM, the NFL Network, and NFL INSIDER MAGA-
ZINE; he has also written books with Charlie Weis, Phil Simms, Jon
Gruden, Wayne Chrebet, Fred Smerlas and Jim Kelly; and
WHEREAS, Victor Carucci is a host on NFL Radio and also hosts the
Pre/Post-Game programs for the NFL's Buffalo Bills Radio Network; previ-
ously, he worked in the Cleveland Browns' organization and for THE
BUFFALO NEWS, THE COURIER-POST in Cherry Hills, New Jersey, and for the
Utica OBSERVER DISPATCH and DAILY PRESS; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Victor Carucci serves as a member of the presti-
gious NFL Hall of Fame Selection Committee; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Victor Carucci;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such outstanding accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor Victor Carucci for
his extraordinary accomplishments which are a tribute to his skill,
dedication and commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations with
praise and pride to honor Victor Carucci upon the occasion of his
induction into the Greater Utica Sports Hall of Fame; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Victor Carucci.
