LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Maureen Mihalics upon the occasion of
her designation as the recipient of the 2011 Senior Citizen of the Year
Award by Warren-Hamilton Counties Office for the Aging

WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their past
contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and valuable
asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Maureen Mihalics upon the occasion of her designation as the recipient
of the 2011 Senior Citizen of the Year Award by Warren-Hamilton Counties
Office for the Aging at its annual senior luncheon to be held on Thurs-
day, May 19, 2011, at Ft. William Henry, Lake George, New York; and
WHEREAS, Maureen Mihalics of Diamond Point, New York, is an active
member of the Warren County Council of Senior Citizens and serves as its
Vice President; she took over this responsibility upon the death of her
husband Tom, who held the post; both she and Tom were members of the
council for many years and he was honored in 2009 as Warren County
Senior of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Maureen Mihalics is involved in the planning of council
activities and events and her work at the Warren-Hamilton Counties
Office for the Aging picnic along with the Annual Senior Awards luncheon
is essential to the success of these events; in addition to her work
with the Warren County Council, she is also involved with the Bolton,
Warrensburg and Queensbury senior groups; and
WHEREAS, A tireless worker, Maureen Mihalics is always available and
never refuses anyone who is in need of her assistance; and
WHEREAS, Maureen Mihalics, a very active and industrious woman, has
inspired and enriched the lives of many through her love and respect for
others, generously sharing the wisdom gained over years of experiencing
life to its fullest; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and commend those who have witnessed and contributed to the devel-
opments and achievements of our Nation, State, and communities over the
course of their noteworthy lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Maureen Mihalics upon the occasion of her designation as the
recipient of the 2011 Senior Citizen of the Year Award by Warren-Hamil-
ton Counties Office for the Aging; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Maureen Mihalics.
