LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Elisa Nachamkin upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Barrier Free Housing Award from the
Capital District Center for Independence on June 16, 2011

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Elisa Nachamkin upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Barrier Free Housing Award from the Capital District Center for Inde-
pendence at its 14th Annual Celebration of Independence Awards Luncheon
on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at the Albany Marriott in Colonie, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Elisa R. Nachamkin, Outreach Counselor, Senior Services of
Albany has exhibited leadership and dedication to all whose lives she
has touched; and
WHEREAS, Elisa R. Nachamkin advocates effectively for seniors and
their families; her demeanor, work ethic, and consistent results all
epitomize the word professionalism in Senior Services; and
WHEREAS, An advocate for all seniors, Elisa R. Nachamkin uses all
programs available to improve the lives of seniors; she consciously acts
to make certain every senior is appreciated; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Elisa Nachamkin upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Barrier Free Housing Award from the Capital District Center for
Independence; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Elisa Nachamkin, Director of Adult Day Services, Westview
Homes Senior Center.
