LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Charles Solar upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition as an Outstanding Citizen of the
community of Clayton

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Charles Solar has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Charles Solar
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition as an
Outstanding Citizen of the community of Clayton by the Town of Clayton
in June of 2011; and
WHEREAS, Charles Solar has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Reaching the distinguished milestone of 70 years of service
as a member of the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department, Charles Solar also
served as a member of the Fire Police; in addition, he currently serves
as a Department Councilman; and
WHEREAS, Charles Solar has shown personal dedication and service to
the Town of Clayton throughout the years and has remained a vital citi-
zen of the township; and
WHEREAS, Charles Solar has always given of his time, dedication, and
unwavering loyalty to his community in many ways; subsequently, in 1971,
he was the first-ever to be named Clayton Citizen of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Charles Solar has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Charles Solar upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition as an Outstanding Citizen of the community of Clayton by the
Town of Clayton; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Charles Solar.
