LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring outgoing Mayor Kevin Greene upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Kevin Greene has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor outgoing Mayor
Kevin Greene upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion by the Floral Park Board of Trustees at its Board Meeting on March
16, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Kevin Greene has been called upon to contribute his
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Kevin Greene should be commended for his service and
his many accomplishments during his 10 years in this position; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure, Mayor Kevin Greene has made many improve-
ments, some of which include instituting an emergency management program
and a road opening program, and created new liaisons for Floral Park
youth leagues, particularly with the Little League and Roller Hockey
Screaming Eagles programs; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Kevin Greene will be especially remembered for the
appointment of three very important positions, Police Commissioner,
Village Clerk, and Village Administrator; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Mayor Kevin Greene has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor outgoing Mayor Kevin Greene upon the occasion of his designation
for special recognition; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to outgoing Mayor Kevin Greene.
