LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Mount Carmel Worship and Outreach
Center, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its annual Family Day Street
Fair

WHEREAS, Institutions devoted to improving the quality of life for
others, enabling them to build lives of dignity and self-worth are
deserving of the highest praise and recognition; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Mount Carmel Worship and Outreach Center, Inc. upon the occasion of
hosting its annual Family Day Street Fair on Saturday, June 25, 2011, in
Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Mount Carmel Worship and Outreach Center fosters opportu-
nities for ministry by linking community resources with human needs, in
order to bridge the gap between economic dependence, and individual
independence; its outreach programs are open to all community members
residing in New York City; and
WHEREAS, The Family Day Street Fair is the celebration of healthy
living and survival of the family; it has scheduled a full day of
outdoor activities to cater to the community's health and social needs;
its schedule contains the following events: free family games, crafts,
and contests; high blood pressure/diabetes screenings; affordable health
insurance information; area businesses discounts/product
information/product demonstrations; and Gospel fellowship; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned our
recognition and applause; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Mount Carmel Worship and Outreach Center, Inc. upon the
occasion of hosting its annual Family Day Street Fair; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Glen Lawrence, Pastor, Mount Carmel Worship and Outreach
Center, Inc.
