LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Brittani Scharlau, 2011 Salutatorian
of Alexander High School in recognition of her outstanding accomplish-
ment

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today -- the leaders of tomorrow -- whose character and achievements
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to recognize
and commend Brittani Scharlau, the 2011 Salutatorian of Alexander High
School, Alexander, New York, in recognition of her outstanding academic
performance and exemplary achievement; and
WHEREAS, In addition to being an outstanding student, Brittani Schar-
lau participates in the Art Club, Drama Club, Musical Theater, College
and Career Club, National Honor Society and Softball, Swimming and
Volleyball; and
WHEREAS, She also volunteers her time at the Alexander Fire Department
and 4H Horse Program; and
WHEREAS, Brittani Scharlau may now stand with pride as she assesses
her achievements, experiences the satisfaction of her labors and the joy
of her accomplishments, eager to face the new experiences of a challeng-
ing world; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional student of Alexander High School represents
the potential inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; her
achievements have brought enduring honor to her family and community and
should be recognized and saluted; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend students
of outstanding character who have shown initiative and a commitment to
constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and act as role models
of leadership to be emulated by their peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Brittani Scharlau, 2011 Salutatorian of Alexander High School,
in recognition of her outstanding accomplishment, and to extend to her
the best wishes of this Legislative Body for a future of purposeful
success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brittani Scharlau.
