LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Peconic Landing at Southold Inc.
Continuing Care Retirement Community upon the occasion of being rated as
one of the Top Nursing Facilities in the United States by the U.S. News
and World Report

WHEREAS, Senior citizens planted the seeds that made our communities
grow and prosper; their past contributions and future participation are
a vital part of, and valuable asset to, the fabric of community life;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of nursing facilities which provide essential care and support-
ive services for elderly and disabled people, and serve to enhance the
quality of life for our loved ones; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Peconic Landing at Southold Inc. Continuing Care Retirement Community
upon the occasion of being rated as one of the Top Nursing Facilities in
the United States by the U.S. News and World Report; and
WHEREAS, The U.S. News and World Report ranked more than 15,500 Nurs-
ing Homes to determine the 2011 top-ranked facilities; Peconic Landing
at Southold Inc. Continuing Care Retirement Community received four
straight quarters of perfect five-star ratings from the federal Centers
for Medicare and Medicaid Services in health inspections, nurse staffing
and quality of care; and
WHEREAS, For many years, the skilled staff of the Peconic Landing at
Southold Inc. Continuing Care Retirement Community has been dedicated to
enhancing the lives of its residents, by providing outstanding quality
care in a nurturing environment; this facility has never lessened its
concern for the dignity of every resident it serves, or compromised its
standard of excellence for resident care; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize insti-
tutions which faithfully serve the needs of the community and its citi-
zens with diligence and compassionate commitment to improving the quali-
ty and dignity of life in the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Peconic Landing at Southold Inc. Continuing Care Retirement Commu-
nity upon the occasion of being rated as one of the Top Nursing Facili-
ties in the United States by the U.S. News and World Report; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Peconic Landing at Southold Inc. Continuing Care Retirement
Community.
