LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Bethlehem Central Masterminds
Team and Coach Paul O'Reilly upon the occasion of capturing the Capital
Region Championship

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding success in
educational competition, have inspired and brought pride to our majestic
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Bethlehem Central Masterminds Team and Coach Paul O'Reilly upon
the occasion of capturing the Capital Region Championship on Monday, May
23, 2011 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, Established in the Fall of 1995, Masterminds is an academic
competition for high school students who compete in academic trivia
covering a broad range of areas including art, biology, chemistry,
current events, geography, history, literature, music, political
science, pop culture, religion and sports; and
WHEREAS, The team's overall record is outstanding, and the team
members were loyally and enthusiastically supported by family, fans,
friends and the community at large; and
WHEREAS, The regional title is the second in a row and the sixth since
Bethlehem Central High School began playing Masterminds; and
WHEREAS, The talent displayed by this team is due in great part to the
efforts of Coach Paul O'Reilly, a skilled and inspirational tutor,
respected for his ability to develop potential into excellence; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Bethlehem Central Masterminds Team have
proven themselves to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting
favorably on their school; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, these
scholars now stand honorably, with just pride in their accomplishments
and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appre-
ciating the caring counsel and support provided by their teachers,
coaches and parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Bethlehem Central Masterminds Team; its members: Austin
Mayron; Kartik Ramkumar; Gurtej Kanwar; Mike Clawar; Dan Lachapelle;
Josh Reichler; Colin Nicotina; and Dan Zhou; and Coach Paul O'Reilly on
their outstanding accomplishment and overall team record; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Bethlehem Central Masterminds Team and to Coach Paul
O'Reilly.
