LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Nieuw Amersfort Community Associ-
ation upon the occasion of hosting its Ninth Concert in the Park ceremo-
ny

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions that would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and
its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Nieuw Amersfort Community Association upon the occasion of hosting
its Ninth Concert in the Park ceremony on Saturday, August 6, 2011, in
Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, The concert will feature Bomba Yo Dance Group, the Paerdegat
Gymnasts, and Impressions Dance Theatre; and
WHEREAS, The Nieuw Amersfort Community Association was formed in 1989
to represent an area from Flatbush Avenue to Troy Avenue and Avenue H to
Hubbard Place; it was officially incorporated as a not-for-profit organ-
ization in the State of New York in 1993; and
WHEREAS, The Nieuw Amersfort Community Association counts among its
successes securing renovation of Amersfort Park and putting an end to
all-night, outdoor pay parties in its area; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Nieuw Amersfort Community Association upon the occasion of
hosting its Ninth Concert in the Park ceremony; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Nieuw Amersfort Community Association.
