LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Anthony Ng for his unwavering commitment
and contributions to the youth of New York City

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Anthony Ng for his unwavering commitment and contributions to the youth
of New York City; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Ng is the Director of Policy and Advocacy at United
Neighborhood Houses (UNH); while at UNH, he has influenced city and
state budget and policy decisions resulting in service improvements and
funding allocations in youth services, teen summer jobs, adult literacy
and immigrant services; and
WHEREAS, Prior to UNH, Anthony Ng worked at Asian Americans for Equal-
ity and the Mount Hope Housing Company, focusing on affordable housing
and community development; in September of 2009, City Hall News named
Anthony one of their "40 Under 40 Rising Stars"; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Ng is a graduate of Bates College and has a master's
degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology;
he is a board member of the New York Immigration Coalition, has been
active with the Citizens Union's Municipal Affairs Committee, and is an
advisory board member to Chhaya Community Development Corporation, Coro
New York, and the Coalition for Asian American Children & Families; and
WHEREAS, Born in Hong Kong, Anthony Ng was raised in Brooklyn and
currently lives in Jackson Heights, Queens; he is a proud New Yorker and
a true asset to society; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife and daughter, both of
whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Anthony Ng for his unwavering commitment and contributions to the
youth of New York City; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Anthony Ng.
