LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring George Walborn upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Above and Beyond Award by Rural/Metro
Syracuse

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, George Walborn has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor George Walborn
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Above and
Beyond Award by Rural/Metro Syracuse; and
WHEREAS, The Above and Beyond Award is given to individuals and groups
from the Central New York community and business who positively promote
health, wellness, awareness of Emergency Medical Services, and those who
work to ensure excellence in service to EMS patients; and
WHEREAS, George Walborn works in the security office at the entrance
to Upstate Medical University Hospital's Emergency Room; and
WHEREAS, A 14 year veteran of Upstate Medical University Hospital,
George Walborn repeatedly goes above and beyond the call of duty; and
WHEREAS, In addition to exemplary performance as a Security Officer,
George Walborn can frequently be found assisting Rural/Metro crews with
a variety of tasks from safe backing and parking of rigs to patient
loading and unloading; and
WHEREAS, George Walborn has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, George Walborn has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which George Walborn has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor George Walborn upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Above and Beyond Award by Rural/Metro Syracuse; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to George Walborn.
